Spoon and Stable
A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of dining at Spoon and Stable in Minneapolis. On all accounts, it was a fantastic experience. To start, the decor is absolutely beautiful. The skylights and large windows add to the lovely bright atmosphere. It is warm and cozy, a perfect mix of modern industrial meets farmhouse. Fitting, since the space was formally a stable. The colors consist of natural pallatte of whites and creams, dark woods, and interesting textures.
How beautiful is this wine cellar? Complete with a tasting table.
Enough with the BEAUTIFUL BREATHTAKING design of Spoon & Stable. Lets move on to the equally wonderful food and beverages.
Spoon and Stable's cocktail menu is refreshingly interesting. I love trying new cocktails, and this is a great place to do it! My mom had the Pineapple Daiquiri, a far cry from the giant goblets of syrupy daiquiris you see at beachside bars. The pineapple daiquiri had a hint of sweetness from pineapple, and was perfectly balanced.
I had the 'Remember the Maine' cocktail which included J. Carver barrel gin, punt e mes, cherry heering, and absinthe. It was kind of similar to a negroni, but the cherry hearing added a lovely, deep cherry flavor. Just try it. Trust me. Sit in the bar and you can choose from a long list of gourmet bar foods, including Duck Meatloaf Sliders, House Made Corn Dogs, and Hand Cut French Fries with béarnaise powder, herbs de provence.
The first thing I saw on the menu was the Autumn Vegetable Salad. D I V I N E. So many of my favorite things on one beautiful plate. How gorgeous is this plate? It was love at first sight
For the entree I had Raviolo al Uovo. Stuffed with swiss chard, pecorino cheese, and an egg yolk, topped with shaved brussels sprouts, it was so rich and delicious, I couldn't even finish it.
For dessert, we had the Chocolate Banana Financier. This dessert lives up to its name in full effect.
Chocolate banana cake, the perfect amount of milk chocolate ice cream, popped sorghum, peanuts, and a smidgen of caramel. One of the best desserts I have ever had!!
Bottom line. If you have the chance to visit Spoon and Stable, do it. I want to move in.
